GATHERING DESCRIPTION / WHAT HAPPENS? :
i haven’t held an online story-gathering since the epic of PARSIFAL at the end of last year. here they come Again, the old ones, the old stories– and when i say old stories, i mean myths and legends, fairy-tales. those breathed into from teller after teller, from our ancestral shared memories– from the times past where story was at the center of the culture, bringing the teachings and the medicine– not relegated only to storytimes for children. stories were for All. stories were what held us together, what bolstered us, what Re-Membered us, each time we splintered apart.
it’s time for a BIG OLD STORY. that at the time of this writing is feeling like– IRON JOHN, or THE MAIDEN KING. in the tradition i learned with/from, i let the stories lead me. they know better than i do who wants to be in the room with those gathered. in the weeks to follow from the time of this posting/writing, that story will become clear.
during this zoom gathering, we come together in sacred space to listen with our whole bodies to the story that is told. afterwards, we ‘feed the story’ together in community– not to analyze it or pin it down or ‘figure it out,’ but to Be With and share what arose in our bodies/spirits/minds as we heard it. perhaps there was a place we got stuck or even fell asleep. perhaps there was an arresting image that reminded us of something from the past or announced something it’s time for us to look at. the experiences are unexpected and Profound. we share together, listen together, talk together, about what the story has delivered to us.
think of it as an immersion/workshop, or simply as a gathering-in of The Village. i invite your visibility and voice, but listeners/cam-off/typing in the chat is also welcome. a break will be taken during the duration for eyes-off-screen relief!

“Only myth, in its sweeping ability to constellate an array of contradictory meanings, has the power to awaken, within the private and particular moment, an immediate sense of what matters most.” – mythsinger Daniel Deardorff.

ABOUT AUDREY
NYC-born storyteller and creative facilitator Audrey di Mola practices what she likes to call “wild body dreaming,” a highly immersive and embodied form of oral tradition storytelling rooted in primordial earth-connection and seeing with the eye of the heart. She lets the stories lead– sensing into what story or stories want to be told to the group, and afterwards as a community we “feed the story” to offer back nourishment to the tale in the form of personal reflections, memories activated, resonating images, and especially sensations we experienced in our bodies as we journeyed through the landscapes of the story. Audrey is assistant to the first Steward of the Mythsinger Legacy Project, carrying on the work of her late great storytelling teacher Daniel Deardorff; was the resident storyteller for Dr. Sharon Blackie’s Mythic Imagination Network from 2022-2023; has deeply enjoyed immersive courses with Dr. Martin Shaw, Francis Weller, and Perdita Finn, among many others; and offers adventurous, care-oriented online/in-person gatherings, 1-on-1 journeys, and unique mythic-inspired support. Underworld-grown, Audrey is grounded in the learnings of her descents and dedicated to carrying the revivifying waters of re-story-ation into our modern society.
